Philosophy
Conflict is inevitable. How can one manage it effectively and constructively? We think mediation is an excellent way to resolve conflicts. Mediation is voluntary, inexpensive, quick, low-risk (i.e. the parties retain control) and confidential.
Compare it to litigation which is often coercive, expensive, slow, very risky and public. Yet litigation is so often chosen, or fallen into. It is often destructive of relationships and results in poor outcomes for everyone except the lawyers.
Mediation enables the parties to develop a creative, workable solution. We manage the process and help you resolve your dispute; you control the outcome — fairly, quickly, inexpensively and privately.
We work to flesh out your interests, generate options for solution and get to a sound resolution. Importantly, mediation can often preserve and repair relationships whereas litigation tends to damage them. With our guidance, the parties strike a resolution only if they choose to. You decide, not us.
We are happy to mediate in the facilitative style (where we direct traffic) and evaluative style (where we drive the boat) — you tell us what you want.
Mediation can save you lots of time and money. It can result in creative solutions, remain strictly private and preserve control by the parties. Please let us know if we can help. We would be happy to work with you.
